To Be Homed

TESS

Tess is a 5 year old, longish haired, black and white Border Collie bitch who is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

She is very good with people (including children of all ages) and interacts appropriately with other dogs. She is an extremely friendly, active, playful dog.

Unfortunately she had a bad experience when she was younger that has left her with a compulsion to flee when in open spaces. It also compels her to bolt through any open door or gate. Once in flight she can only be stopped by someone directly in front of her, and she never manages to find her own way back home. She runs faster than any human. She also tends to lurk near doors and gates waiting for them to be opened.

Because of this she needs a home with a large secure walled garden, preferably with another playful dog (probably male as she can be a bit bossy). It is unlikely that she can live in a home with children as it is vital that everyone coming and going fully understands that they have to be aware of where she is whenever they open an outside door or gate.

Once her new owners understand her body language she can be allowed off the lead in woodland, but never anywhere that is at all open such as a field or a beach.

If you think you can offer the home that Tess needs please email info@barrk.co.uk or call 01888 544644.

MAISIE

Maise is a friendly 3year old cairn cross terrier, who has had an unfortunate experience with young children and therefore we would not expect to home her with young children.

To find out more about Maise or any of our other dogs who are looking for homes please call the Barrk Line 01888 544644 this is an answer service please leave your name and contact detals and one of our volunteers will call you back

If you think you can offer the home that Maisie needs please email info@barrk.co.uk or call 01888 544644.

CODY

Cody is a 4 year old Labrador/Staffie cross. He is not a large dog – more medium – Springer Spaniel size.

He would be better as an only pet as he does not take kindly to cats or other dogs.

Cody has a tremendous personality and loves people. He has boundless energy and needs an active home, with plenty of play exercise and walks. He is very strong on the lead and needs training to curtail his enthusiasm. We feel that he is too strong and boisterous for children, but teenagers would cope with him.

Cody also needs to be neutered, but this cannot be done at the moment as he is currently in kennels. B.A.R.R.K. will pay for the cost of neutering Cody once he is in his new home.

Could you give this handsome young man the home that he so desperately needs?

If you think you can offer the home that Cody needs please email info@barrk.co.uk or call 01888 544644.

MARMITE

Marmite is 2.5 year old Jack Russell cross. He is a little bit larger than a Jack Russell, but otherwise very similar.

He is a very lively, playful, friendly dog who likes other dogs once he knows them, or is off the lead, but can appear aggressive to them when on the lead. He would probably not come back if let off the lead in the neighbourhood of rabbits or other exciting wildlife.

He would be better in a house that did not use a car much as he screams, throws himself around and tries to demolish any vehicle from the inside, and can keep this up for at least 30 miles. He is very keen to get inside a car to perform these activities, but it is very distracting for the driver.

He likes children, but is probably too lively for children younger than about 8 years old.

His new home must ensure that he fully understands that his position in life is at the bottom of the pack.

If you think you can offer the home that Marmite needs please email info@barrk.co.uk or call 01888 544644.

Bracken
We have had Bracken for nearly a year now.  We re-homed her after her breeding days were over.  She has very much become part of our family unit and has settled in with us fantastically.  She loves the outdoors, especially woods, and is the most social dog I have ever met - happily playing with every dog she meets and greeting strangers with a wagging tail and nudging head.  She goes into work with Mario every day and is spoilt rotten with walks and attention by all of the lads.
